Zom 100: The Importance of Living Life

Once again, we’re back at it with another In-Depth Review! On today’s episode we will be talking about Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead and why Living Life is far more important than surviving.

Now within the context of a zombie apocalypse I will be comparing aspects of the show to the real world. In all honesty a lot of it is easy to interpret because it’s basically one for one. Now then let’s hop right into it then, shall we? Why is Living more important than Surviving.

It’s very obvious that I’m hinting to a distinct difference between these two words. Survival can often be seen as the bare minimum. Your coworker or classmate is behind on a project and they’re stressing. Though they know they’ll make the deadline they look to you and speak. “It’s all good, I’ll survive.” And there’s that word again. Survive. I will complete the required item and no more. Survival is in fact the minimum. The bare minimum to survive in this world.

The Mortality of Man

Zom 100

The sad truth of the matter is like Tendo, we can often find ourselves in areas of life where our job is just that. Our job. There is no calling, no passion. Nothing. To put into perspective recently my grandfather was in the hospital, and to hear from him how half the nurses ignored him when he requested them really bugged me. It feels like no one cares about their jobs anymore. It’s just another paycheck.

And Tendo was in this position as well. Three years. He was stuck doing overtime practically every day for three years being exploited for his work and not doing things for himself. And its eye opening to see what happens when you abandon self in favor of income. It’s scary honestly. Watching how someone full of life can barely keep their eyes open because of the soul draining work environment they find themselves in.

Now some people don’t have a choice in this matter, they’re stuck and the most likely always will be. But for those who can. Live.

What it Means To Live In Zom 100

Zom 100

To live is to make the most of life. To find time for yourself. For your hobbies, your family, your friends. To engage in one aspect of those is to live. Zom 100 took the literal apocalypse to get Tendo to open his eyes and realize everything he skipped out on because of his terrible working conditions. He ignored friends and focused only on work. And doing that for yourself will ruin you.

To live life is to see the world is beautiful. There are some many things to do. While granted a lot can cost money there are some that are absolutely free. Nothing says you can’t go and have a picnic in the park. And I also understand the world has become more dangerous. But a man who lives in fear will forever live in a self-made cage. If you let fear of the real world stop you, then you’ve already stopped living.

Living involves drive, it involves risk. Telling that special person you love them, jumping off a bridge attached to a bungee cord, taking a mountain path hike. The world has so much to offer. You just need to open your eyes and understand that to access it you simply need the drive to.

So go out my friends. And live. Live your life the way you want. You only have one chance to do it.
